Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of "Katana — Japan Stock Screener" (the "Service"). By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1 (Description of the Service)

The Service processes and calculates financial data disclosed on EDINET (the Financial Services Agency's system for securities report disclosures) into configurable, viewable stock-screening criteria for Japan-listed (Tokyo Stock Exchange) equities. It is developed and operated by an individual.

Article 2 (Not Investment Advice)

The Service is provided for informational purposes only and does not recommend or solicit the purchase or sale of any specific financial product. The criteria, figures, and rankings displayed are purely the mechanical result of calculating and sorting disclosed data; they do not constitute a recommendation of any individual security or a substitute for investment judgment. All investment decisions are made at your own risk and responsibility. The operator assumes no liability for any damages arising from use of the Service.

Article 3 (Data Source and Accuracy)

The Service's financial data is obtained and processed directly from disclosures on EDINET (Financial Services Agency). The share-price equivalent is calculated as the trailing P/E disclosed on EDINET multiplied by EPS, and market capitalization as that P/E multiplied by net income. Both are fiscal-year-end reference values. The operator does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data. There may be a time lag between an earnings disclosure and its reflection in the Service.

Article 4 (Prohibited Conduct)

When using the Service, the following conduct is prohibited:

Reproducing, republishing, or redistributing all or part of the data or calculation results provided by the Service without proper citation or attribution to the Service
Bulk-downloading, continuously collecting, or storing all or a substantial part of the Service's data, building a dataset from it, or using it in another service, including by means of an automated program or AI agent
Automated access or large-scale scraping that places excessive load on the Service
Conduct that obstructs the operation of the Service, or that violates applicable law or public order and morals
Providing information obtained through the Service to third parties for compensation as if it were your own analysis

Article 5 (Changes, Suspension, and Termination of the Service)

The operator may change the content of the Service, or suspend or terminate its provision, without prior notice. The operator assumes no liability for any damages incurred by users as a result.

Article 6 (Changes to These Terms)

The operator may change these Terms when deemed necessary. Revised Terms take effect from the time they are posted on this page.

Article 7 (Governing Law)

These Terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Japan.
